A few years ago, a dear friend for mine made a statement that changed the course of my life.
"Joy, you should be an Engineer."

At the time, I was working as a security supervisor for a tech company and thus was surrounded by engineers. All of the standard detrimental thoughts immediately flooded my brain.Â
'It's too late to change careers.'
'I can't afford to go to school.'
'I just don't have the time.'

It took me some time to fight off those thoughts sufficiently enough to start the process of deciding (a) what type of engineer I wanted to become and (b) what kind of schooling I wanted to attend.
With the encouragement of my family and friends, I am proud to say that as of September 17, 2022 I have officially completed the GA (General Assembly) Full Stack Software Engineering bootcamp course. I could not be more excited to start my new journey!
